As Wendy over at the Halloween Tree pointed out it would be good to know how this pass the flashlight thing would work. Well wait no more because the little grey clouds that live in my head have been sparking off the lighting and I think I've figured out how this can work. It will be kind of like a literary relay race.
I'll collect everyone who wants to participate here on my blog and make a list. Then I'll draw them out of a hat in random order to decide who goes in what order. Then everyone who participates will blog their section of the story on their own blog, and I will post who is blogging on each day with a link to where their post(or just their blog if they are a bit tardy with blogging like I am) and the person who just finished can link to the next participant on the bottom of their story post. That way people can follow it all around blog land like a story hunt!
I think how many people want to participate should dictate what length options each participant should have and I think since we're all of a more esoteric bent I think we should call it Pass the Candle, rather than pass the flashlight.
AND I've been extra productive this morning and even made a little clip art thingie for it. Tell me if you like it-

Travel Log 8-10: An Idea
There have been so many great posts wandering around on my blog roll about fall and halloween (yup, I don't think any of us can wait for that particular day to come, lol) that I have been sitting here in southern California, which is so far from fall like even when it is fall, seriously jonesing for some fall fun myself.
Which gave spark to this little idea. Since I have been meeting so many of you through my giveaway I had this idea shoot out of the cosmos into my noggin yesterday.
One of my favorite things about fall is all the ghost stories, and one of my favorite things to do when I was younger, and went to umpteen sleep overs, were pass the flashlight stories.
So would anyone be interested in starting a "pass the flashlight" here in blogland?
nothing exorbitant, just a page or two then pass it on to the next person, then others could follow it from blog to blog reading it.
Anyone interested just drop me a comment on this post and I'll get it arranged. It could be a lot of fun =).
**************EDIT***************EDIT************
As Dirgesinger from Shadowed Paths pointed out I didn't explain what a pass the flash light story is. I often forget that not everyone had as geeky an upbringing as me, lol.
Basically the game is that everyone gathers in a circle and you pull out the ol' handy dandy flashlight. One person starts telling a story, and then at a point of their choosing says " and then..." and passes the flashlight, and the telling of the story, to the next person. They can either choose a person at random or go in a circle until the last person chosen ends the story.
Sounds like fun huh?

Travel Log 8-6: The GIVEAWAY!!!!
Ok, as promised here, finally is my giveaway!
Fot the one year anniversary of Lost In Astral space I decided to give away one of my favorite crafts that I made.
So here they are(forgive the poor photography, lol):
A jar decorated on all four sides with "stained glass" pentacles representing all four elements that you put a tea light inside to light up the little widows for meditation or honoring the corners. Here's a picture of the other side as well as one with a candle in side.
Also I am giving away a set of 4 tea lights hand made by yours truly in a choice of either summer or fall scents.
AAAAAANNNNDDD-
A set of wrist sized prayer beads made by me as well. You get a choice between this set with flourite( to promote concentration and help fulfill wishes) and hematite( to help absorb negativity and calm emotions) with a crystal cresent moon charm.
OR- this set with flourite, hematite, and tigers eye(to protect against stress and promote energy and clairvoyance) with a crystal star charm.
Alright now here are the rules:
Pretty simple huh? I hope everyone enjoys this little experiment and I can't wait to share these little treats with one of you!!!! (yes I am aware that multiple exclamation point use is a sign of a severely disturbed mind, but then we all already new that about me didn't we? lol)
**************EDIT**************EDIT****************
I apologize because in my excitement I didn't notice that I hadn't put the end date for this on here earlier.
So without further ado the midgets who keep calling me mom will pick the winner out of a hat on Aug. 21st.
Thanks for being patient with my first one of these =).

Travel Log 8-6: Promises Promises...
I know I said the giveaway would be posted last night, but well technical difficulties have insued.
The tech gremlins have made it so that I can't get the photo's off my husbands phone (yup we are the last people on the planet not to have a digital camera, lol) and into my email so that I can get them onto the bucket of photo's and put them on here. They look pretty good considering, and I really like the way the prizes turned out. So please bear with me and he should be getting the problem sorted out this afternoon =). So tonight when I get home from work I'll get it all posted and started and maybe then I can stop grinning like a maniac!

Thanks to Serenity over at The Domestic Witch or giving me this lovely Sunshine award. She has an awesome series on elemental magic going over on her blog so stop by and check it out!

Pass the award onto 12 bloggers.
Link the nominees within your post.
Let the nominees know they have received this award by commenting on their blogs.
Share the love and link to the person from whom you received this award.
The only problem is I have no idea who to nominate, lol, so I'm going to have to chicken out and pass on that part =).
Also Mrs. B has an awesome giveaway going on over on Confessions of a Pagan Soccer Mom!
It's a kitchen decorative tile with the artwork of Brigit Ashwood , who honestly just rocks.
If you are a pagan parent seriously check out The Earth Child's Handook. It is really a great resource and deserves a once over.

Travel Log 8-2: Busy Busy Little Bee
Sorry I've been so quiet, it's been a little hectic over here.
I had a wonderful shock today. I walked out of the sweltering heat and into my local craft store in hopes of picking up supplies and found myself faced with the beginnings of their Halloween display! The first signs of fall are popping up and I can't wait.
And speaking of supplies......

MY FIRST BLOG GIVEAWAY!!
It's not ready yet, but by thursday night I should have pics of the finished product so that I can start it up.
I'm really looking forward to being able to share one of my favorite crafts that I put together with one of you!

Travel Log 7-27: Wicks and Things
Well the older kidnicks came home from their dad's house last night, so we went into over drive here. We packed just about every new thing we've done this summer into one night almost. The little guys stayed up an extra hour or two and we had a lot of messy, chaotic fun.
We even tried something we had never done before-
This
Plus this
equals this:
My very first container candles!!
I found some really cool tins and votive cups and made my first batch of container candles last night. I also tried out a new creamier wax and a new type of scenting medium. I need to work on my filling in and I need to get the wicks straight next time, but all in all it was a success!
I'll try again tonight after little guys go to bed, and maybe you'll get a sneak peek of what I'm getting set up for my first give away =)!
